Why Callin Exists
Most people aren't looking for advice.

They're looking for someone who will actually sit with them. Someone who won't rush to fix things, offer a quick solution, or change the subject. Someone who is simply, genuinely present.

That's what Callin offers. Our trained peer listeners are here to listen with care and without judgement. They won't tell you what to do. They'll hear what you're going through, and give you the space to process it at your own pace.

Whether you're burnt out from work, struggling with isolation in a remote community, feeling the weight of caregiving, or just carrying something you haven't been able to put down, you don't have to wait until things get worse before reaching out.

Common Questions
Questions from Australians.
Is Callin therapy or counselling?
No. Callin is a non-clinical peer emotional support service. Our listeners are trained in active listening and compassionate conversation, but they are not registered therapists, psychologists, or counsellors. If you need clinical care, please reach out to a qualified professional.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
Not at all. You can book directly, today, without any referral or mental health care plan. Callin is available whenever you need it, on your own terms.
Are sessions available in the evenings or on weekends?
Yes. Callin is designed to work around your life. We have sessions available in the evenings and on weekends to suit shift workers, parents, students, and busy professionals across all Australian time zones.
Is Callin available to FIFO workers?
Absolutely. Callin is online, so it's available wherever you have an internet connection, whether you're in Perth, on a mine site in the Pilbara, or somewhere in between. A lot of our Australian users are in FIFO or remote work situations.
Is everything I say kept confidential?
Yes. Your conversations are completely private. Callin does not share information with employers, insurers, or any third parties. Your session is between you and your peer listener.
Can I use Zoom or Google Meet?
Yes. When you book, you can choose your preferred platform. You'll receive a secure link and join at your scheduled time. No special software or downloads beyond what you may already have.
How are payments charged, and is pricing in Australian dollars?
All pricing is in Australian dollars (AUD) with no conversion fees or surprises. Payments are processed securely online before your session. The monthly membership provides five hours of support each month at $259 AUD.
Can university students use Callin?
Yes. Callin is available to anyone 18 and over. Students dealing with academic pressure, loneliness, transitions, or anxiety are very welcome. The free first session is a great way to start.
What if I'm in a crisis or emergency?
Callin is not a crisis or emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please call 000. For suicide prevention support available 24 hours a day, please contact Lifeline Australia on 13 11 14.
What's the difference between Callin and a regular chat with a friend?
A trained peer listener brings something different from a friend conversation. They are specifically trained in active listening and emotional presence. They won't redirect the conversation to their own problems, offer unsolicited advice, or feel burdened. Their sole focus is you.
Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.
You don't have to be in crisis to deserve support. You don't have to be at rock bottom. You just have to be human, going through something hard, and willing to say, "I could do with someone to talk to." That's more than enough. Callin is here, across all of Australia, whenever you're ready.
