Cookie Policy

How Callin uses cookies, explained the way we'd want it explained to us: plainly, and without anything hidden.

Last updated: 20 June 2026 Cookies never access your conversations
01
Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Callin uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website or use our platform.

Policies like this often go unread because they're hard to follow. We've tried to write this one differently: plainly, honestly, and without legal noise, because how we talk about your data should feel like an extension of what Callin stands for: clarity, respect, and space to feel informed rather than managed.

This page should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle personal data more broadly. If anything here is unclear, you're welcome to reach out, see Contact, below.

02
What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (your browser, phone, or computer) when you visit it. They aren't programs, and they can't access your files or run code. Their job is simply to remember small pieces of information, like whether you're signed in or what preferences you've chosen, so the experience feels consistent each time you return.

Similar technologies, such as local storage or tracking pixels, work in much the same way. We treat them the same way throughout this policy.

03
How Callin uses cookies

We use cookies for a small number of practical reasons:

  • To keep our website secure and protect against misuse
  • To enable core features, like staying signed in or remembering your settings
  • To understand, in aggregate, how people use the site, so we can fix what's broken and improve what's working
  • To measure performance, such as how quickly pages load
  • Where applicable, to support limited marketing and outreach, such as understanding which channels bring people to Callin
Worth repeating

Cookies do not track or listen to your private conversations with Callin listeners. Conversations on Callin are not collected, stored, or influenced by cookies in any way. They relate only to how you use our website and platform, never to what you share during a session.

04
Types of cookies we use

We group our cookies into four categories. You can review and adjust most of them at any time, except for the ones that keep Callin running.

Essential
Always on

Necessary for Callin to function, like keeping you securely signed in or remembering items in a session. Without them, parts of the platform simply wouldn't work. Because they're essential, they don't require separate consent under PECR, but we list them here for full transparency.

Examples: session ID, authentication tokens Duration: session – up to 24 hours
Analytics

Help us understand how people navigate Callin: which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where things get confusing. We use this in aggregate; it helps us improve the platform, not identify individuals.

Example: Google Analytics Duration: up to 24 months
Functional

Remember choices you've made, like language or display preferences, so you don't have to set them again on your next visit.

Examples: preference, UI-state cookies Duration: up to 12 months
Marketing

If used, these help us understand which channels bring people to Callin and avoid showing repetitive ads. They may be set by us or by third-party advertising partners.

Example: ad-platform cookies, where active Duration: up to 12 months

These switches are a preview of how the controls work. Your real preferences are saved through the cookie banner shown on your first visit, or anytime via "Cookie Settings" in the footer.

05
Third-party cookies

Some cookies are placed by trusted third-party services we use to operate Callin, not by us directly. These providers may set their own cookies when their tools load on our site. Depending on which tools are active at any given time, this may include services such as:

ServiceTypically used for
Google AnalyticsUnderstanding site usage and performance
StripeSecure payment processing
CalendlyScheduling and booking
GumroadPurchases and transactions
MetaLimited marketing and outreach, where used
Email service providersDelivering communications you've opted into

This list reflects the types of tools we may use, not a guarantee that all are active at any given time. Each provider has its own privacy and cookie practices, which we'd encourage you to review on their respective sites.

06
Your control and consent

You're always in control of non-essential cookies.

  • When you first visit Callin, you'll see a cookie banner where you can accept or reject non-essential cookies, or choose exactly which categories to allow.
  • You can change your preferences at any time through "Cookie Settings" in our website footer.
  • You can also manage or block cookies directly through your browser settings, usually found under Privacy or Security.
  • If you withdraw consent, we'll stop setting the related cookies going forward, though this won't undo processing that already took place while consent was active.

Blocking cookies entirely, including essential ones, may affect how parts of Callin work for you.

07
Data protection and privacy

Cookies are a small part of a much larger commitment: protecting your privacy.

  • Data minimisation: we only collect what's needed for the purpose stated, nothing more.
  • Transparency: we aim to explain plainly what's collected and why; this page is part of that.
  • Your control: wherever possible, the choice belongs to you.

We do not sell your personal data, not through cookies and not anywhere else.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and equivalent privacy laws, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Restrict or object to certain processing
Request a portable copy of your data
Withdraw consent at any time
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office, or ICO)

For more on these rights and how to exercise them, see our Privacy Policy.

08
Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, to reflect changes in the tools we use, legal requirements, or how Callin works. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For meaningful changes, we'll aim to let you know clearly and visibly, rather than relying on a quiet edit.

09
